Soon after Jonas Mekas left this world, his close friends – the Gang – with whom he sang many songs, felt the urge to send him a message of love. And so was born this 7-inch vinyl entitled “Song for Jonas.”

The Gang performed this composition live at Jonas’ memorial at St. Mark's Church in New York City in the Spring of 2019 and shortly after recorded it at EastSide Sound studios. Each vinyl cover is unique and hand silk screened with the first 100 personally colored by the members of the Gang. The music was inspired by Lithuanian folk tradition. Proceeds from the sales of this record will go towards maintaining the Jonas Mekas Estate. Edition of 500.
